2024 NOIR X NOIR

Regular price $51.00

BLEND COMPLEX LASTING FINISH

38 cases produced. 60% Gamay Noir, 40% Pinot Noir. Both of these grape varieties find their origins from Burgundy, France, where the grapes are commonly blended together as “Bourgogne Passetoutgrain”. A suitable blend considering their origins and structural likeness, both lighter bodied reds with soft tannins. Gamay Noir brings bright acidity and a heavy spice component, while Pinot Noir adds fruitiness, earthiness and structure. The grape varietals were fermented (wholecluster) & barrel aged separately, then blended together by taste after 11 months in the cellar. The Pinot Noir was barreled entirely in new French oak, from a cooper that extracts a lot of vanilla character. Expect dark cherry, licorice, black pepper & vanilla.

This wine draws from two unique vineyards in Willamette Valley. Gamay Noir from Pamar Vineyard located in the newly establish Van Duzer Corridor AVA, and Pinot Noir from our estate vineyard located in Chehalem Mountains AVA. Overall, the 2024 growing season brought ideal conditions and will be reserved as the new gold standard. Favorable temps to promote healthy cluster formations and ripening early in the season, ample heat to complete ripeness in late summer, while nighttime temps dipped near harvest to create perfect picking conditions for both sites.
