Pinot Noir from our family estate vineyard in the Chehalem Mountains (planted in 2018). Farmed, vinified & bottled by our family to yours.
Our estate vineyard is 4.3 planted acres of Pinot Noir. Small, yes, but this allows our family to farm it exclusively by ourselves- keeping diligent contact with every vine from bud break to harvest. From there, Sid & Mac craft the wines doing everything from fermentation, cellaring & bottling.
Blend 4 is our most special bottling of the 2021 vintage. Harvested from grapes entirely from our southwestern block, it is comprised of Pinot Noir (Dijon 114) planted on Carlton soils. This was Sid's favorite ferment and barrel during its life in the cellar. The barrel was so special and so complete by itself, to blend it away would be a shame, so we decided to bottle the single barrel by itself, creating just 25 cases of wine. There's so many great qualities to this wine but the structure is the star of the show. Its soft & silky texture is inviting, the balance of fresh, bright acidity makes the flavors pop, and the gentle tannins build on the finish and give the wine considerable weight. We've noticed that this section of the vineyard offers ripe bramble berry notes and the single use barrel it was aged in brings a hint of spice & toasted notes. Drink now or continue to let this wine evolve for years to come.
